Where to begin? You are probably visiting this site because maybe you attended one of my yoga classes and are looking for further explanation to that class' theme. Or you want to  check out my playlist. Or, (most likely) you are my mom (hi, mom!). Regardless, thanks for stopping by.

As of today, I am a stay-at-home-mom (proud), wife, yoga instructor, distance runner, and health and wellness junkie. I also have a chardonnay and chocolate every evening. Reason being, I am the mom to twin toddlers - they are everything: complete sweethearts and total maniacs. Our household is controlled chaos and full of noise and joy. In a former life, I was a construction consultant (what?) and left that career because... it was as inspiring as you could imagine. Nowadays, I teach Vinyasa flow, but also absolutely love teaching a Gentle, PreNatal, or Power class when I have the opportunity. As an athlete myself, I am inspired by the mind-body connection, and like to share my knowledge of the workings of the human body to help my students gain a deeper understanding of how their anatomy (physical and subtle) is connected.

Did I say I'm a runner? Yes, it is and always will be my true passion. I'm one of those annoying people that say "I run for therapy!" Think that's BS? Have twin toddlers and you'll think otherwise. I started running over 20 years ago. Pre-kiddos, I completed 9 marathons and 3 half-marathons. Nowadays, I am having a blast racing 10K's. Maybe I'll come out of marathon retirement next year, we'll see. Which leads me back to this: YOGA, Yoga changed running entirely for me. Really long story short, in 2012 I suffered 2 pelvic stress fractures from overtraining and was forced to take 3 months (!!!) off from running. That fall, I enrolled in yoga teacher training. During those months of training, I was able to start back running. I was also practicing yoga 6x per week. Not only did I recover from my injury, but I also trained for a marathon, ran said marathon,... and qualified for Boston. I credit this completely to my yoga practice and strength training. Yoga is the missing link.

What I am not: You won't see pictures of me in impressive arm balances and inversions on this blog. My favorite yoga pose is a simple (yet, oh so complex) forward fold. There's lots of other teachers out there who do those better than me and that I am cool with that. However, if you're looking for a place to find out how the asanas (postures) within a class can enhance your athletic performance or simply alleviate pain so you can pick up your kiddos, you've come to the right place.

Anyways, that's a quick background. Every week, I hope to share further info on that week's class theme, peak poses, and (of course) my playlist. I'll probably (hopefully?) pop in now and then to share anything else going on.

Thanks for reading!
